The Alsace region is a wonderful place for study abroad students to explore many different and contrasting cultures. This region in Eastern France borders Germany and Switzerland and is situated on the Rhine River. The region is filled with timbered buildings and quaint villages, straight out of fairy tales.
Alsace is also one of the most pro-EU regions of France. It was one of the few French regions that voted ‘yes’ to the European Constitution in 2005.
Strasbourg is the home to many important institutions, including the EU Parliament, Council of Europe and The Court of Human Rights. Students who study abroad in Strasbourg have some of the most influential institutions right at their doorstep.
